Account & Billing
Plans, usage limits, token budgets, and subscription management.
Plans
Cortex offers a Free and a Pro plan. Both include full access to sources, feeds, digests, the assistant, and the API. Pro raises resource limits and includes a monthly AI token budget.
Start building your first AI workflows. No credit card required.
For running recurring workflows with included platform-managed AI usage.
| Free | Pro | |
|---|---|---|
| Number of sources | 5 | 500 |
| Number of feeds | 3 | 100 |
| Number of digests | 1 | 50 |
| Source minimum poll interval | 1 day | 15 minutes |
| Digest minimum generation interval | 1 day | 1 hour |
| AI tokens included per month | 100,000 | 1,500,000$6 / 1M overage |
Token Usage
Platform-managed workflows — feed filtering, summarization, embeddings,
and digest generation — consume AI tokens from your monthly included
budget. Check current usage in
Settings → Billing & Usage
(/settings/billing), which shows total consumption,
a breakdown by model and workflow type, and your plan limits.
When the budget is reached, Pro workspaces continue running and overage is billed at $6 / 1M tokens. Free workspaces pause platform-managed AI operations until the next usage window or until you upgrade.
Bring Your Own Model
Both plans support your own model API keys. Calls made through your own key are billed by your provider and do not count against the Cortex token budget.
Managing Your Subscription
Upgrade to Pro from Settings → Billing & Usage. You'll complete checkout through Stripe, and higher limits take effect immediately.
To downgrade, open the Stripe billing portal from the same page and cancel your subscription. Pro access continues through the end of the current billing period, then Free limits apply. If your resource counts exceed Free limits at that point, you'll need to deactivate or remove entities to stay within limits.
Payment methods, invoices, and subscription details are managed through the Stripe billing portal, accessible via Manage billing on the billing page.
API Keys
API keys provide programmatic access to the Cortex API and connect external tools such as MCP clients. See the API Keys guide for setup and management.
